Today is the second part of Maalaala Mo Kaya’s special tribute to Special Action Force, or SAF commandos who died in the Mamasapano clash. The first part was already aired last week, led by Coco Martin as PSINSP Garry Erana. The story gave us a glimpse on how Erana balances his career and love life.
And in the second part of the tribute, it will now going to evolve into the friendship of two heroes who died side by side in Mamasapano. Both Police Senior Inspector, Garry Erana and Rennie Tayrus strengthened their friendship by their love to the country and dedication to fight what is right. Though they are from different teams, they helped one another to defeat their enemies for the sake of protecting the Filipinos.
Police Senior Inspector Rennie Tayrus will be portray by EJAY FALCON. And on a recent presscon for #MMKBrave44, Ejay shared the lesson he learned in portraying the character. He first introduced the hardship he went through to make the story truthful. And as he goes along in telling the experience, Ejay cannot help being emotional. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa MMK kasi pinagawa samen yung MMK, pumunta talaga kami sa SAF, sa Sta. Rosa Laguna, kung san yung camp. Pinagawa samen yung nag-emersion kami, cyempre nag-observe-observe and then ginawa namin yung mga training nila. And cyempre, part na rin po yung nanuod kami sa YouTube kasi di’ba, nababasa na rin namin sa mga news at napapanuod na rin naman natin. So dun kami kumukuha ng hugot. Walang madali saginawa namin. Kasi lahat pinapagawa ni direk sa akin eh. Hindi cya takot na ipagawa sa akin lahat. Siguro pinakahahirap, uhhm, wala akong maalalang madali eh. Physically siguro po yung,(pause) actually lahat talaga eh. Yung sa assault hirap na hirap kaming gawin. Kasi ubos na yung oras namin, kelangan namin gawin ng tama tapos may hinahabol kaming oras plus sa bigat ng mga bitbit namin, yung mga baril na dala-dala namin, sobra, lahat nga sobrang hirap. Nagkasakit na nga ako eh. Lahat po ng eksena namin mahirap talaga. Mas hindi ko maalala yung madali.”
And about the lesson (Ejay actually worked with SAF for five days), he shared, “sobrang dami ko po na-realize. sobrang dami ko po natutunan dito. Yung SAF para saken napaka-swerte kong artista, napakaswerte ko po na tao na ako po bihubuhay ko yung pamilya ko na hindi nalalagay yung buhay ko sa panganib kasi sila talaga, nandun sila, ginagawa nila yung misyon nila, hindi nila alam kung makakabalik sila ng buhay. At hindi lang sa SAF or sa pulis ako humanga kundi pati na rin po sa pamilya nila kasi yung pamilya nila, kaya nilang, hindi ko alam kung paano nila natatanggap na yung mga mahal nila sa buhay na yung kapamilya nila ay andun nakikipaglaban sa giyera na anytime pwede mamatay.”
