So GMA Network is really serious to follow the original story of “Marimar” starred by Thalía and Eduardo Capetillo starred as the protagonists, while Chantal Andere starred as the main antagonist.
The iconic role of Angelika Santibañez is about an ambitious woman who will marry her ex-boyfriend’s father just to earn wealth. That ex-boyfriend is Sergio, the son of Renato, her husband. She will make MariMar’s life miserable.
Angelika Santibañez was originally played by Chantal Andere in 1994 and Katrina Halili in 2007 when GMA Network made a remake of “Marimar” which put Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes to where they are today. Katrina was left as still a struggling sexy star today. She was last seen as the cover of FHM Magazine.
Chantal portrayed the role of Angelika when she was 22 years old, Katrina when she was 21 years and now, Jaclyn will be doing all these kamalditahan and sexy thingy at 51. I wish this is just a hoax but it’s already confirmed by this GMA News article. This is totally horrible!
I don’t know what the Kapuso Network is thinking of choosing Jaclyn Jose to play the role of Angelika Santibañez. Yes she’s a good actor but based on her looks, can she make the new Sergio (Tom Rodriguez) to fall inlove with her? Well, I’m just basing it on the original “Marimar” since they promised that they will be faithful to the original script. And from Katrina to Jaclyn? Seriously!
