“The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” (2011)
Vice Ganda has a lot of films wherein he plays his being gay to the hilt in plots that are funny but improbable . Praybeyt Benjamin is his one film which comes closest to the experiences of an LGBT member.
Benjamin (Vice Ganda) comes from a long line of warriors. Upon learning that Benjamin is gay, he was rejected by his grandfather. But he was forced to enlist in the army when a civil war broke out in the country. He was asked to leave the army when the General found out he is gay. But thru a series of events, Benjamin is able to redeem himself and became a hero in the end.
This is the first movie that broke the 300 million mark at the box office and though it didn’t get the nod of the critics, its popularity more than made up for its slapstick humor.
