Cinema One is set to make a comeback to The Fields, Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna for “Openair Cinema One: Music by Day, Movies by Night” on April 30.
In partnership with Nuvali Night Sky Cinema, Cinema One will be featuring OPM artists Clara Benin and Dane Hipolito, Imago, and Ebe Dancel, and films “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Heneral Luna.” The event will be hosted by DJ Cha Cha of MOR 101.9.
“Heneral Luna” (R13), one of the highest grossing Filipino films of all time is a historical epic film that depicts the Philippine Revolutionary Army during the Philippine-American War. The film was directed by Jerrold Tarog, the director of Cinema One Originals film “Confessional” and produced by Artikulo Uno Productions.
On the other hand, “Indiana Jones: The Raiders of the Lost Ark” (Rated PG), is a classic adventure American film from 1981 that remains one of the highest-grossing films ever made. It was nominated for several Academy Awards in 1982. The film’s critical and popular success led to three additional films, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).
Launched last year, “Openair Cinema One: Music by Day, Movies by Night” was able to attract 6, 000 attendees in Nuvali making it the biggest outdoor screening event in the history of the channel.
Cinema One, the Number One Cable Channel in the Philippines, aims to support the movie industry especially Filipino filmmaking. It is under Creative Programs, Inc. (CPI), a subsidiary of ABS-CBN. The programming of the network includes a line-up of mainstream and independent local and foreign films, film related programming, and original content for television. Its tagline, “Ang Buhay Natin, Parang Sine” (“Our Life Is Like the Movies”) reinforces its affinity with the movie-loving audience who tune in to experience larger than life entertainment on the small screen.
