Actress Sofia Andres defended her onscreen partner Diego Loyzaga for allegedly using illegal drugs.
At the press conference of the Regal Films movie “Pwera Usog” on February 21, Andres denied that Loyzaga was using illegal drugs, since both of them underwent a test.
“No, no, [it’s not true]” she revealed.
Andres also said that their talent management Star Magic can prove that Loyzaga’s drug test result was negative. She said: “Actually, I have no idea. Sabay po kami ni Diego nag-drug test. And kaya ko pong patunayan na negative. Opo, alam po iyan ng Star Magic.”
Loyzaga previously posted a photo of his drug test result on his Instagram. He then took a drug test together with other Kapamilya stars amid the War on Drugs campaign of President Duterte.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old said she was aware of Loyzaga’s issues with his dad Cesar Montano. She revealed she talked to Louzaga before he posted his rants to Montano on his Instagram.
“After that, I talked to him. We talked about it na magiging maayos din ang lahat,” she said.
When asked how her reel partner has been doing since the issue, Andres answered: “He’s better now. Siyempre yung mga mahal niya sa buhay, sinusuportahan siya kahit anong mangyari…
“Sabi ko sa kanya na nandito lang ako for him. I’m always ready to listen. Nandito ako para intindihin kung ano lahat ang kinikimkim niya, yung mga galit niya. And I’m always here to pray na sana maayos na lahat,” she said.
In an interview with entertainment site PEP.ph, Loyzaga said that he still underwent the drug test to prove that he was innocent despite the conflict with Montano. Furthermore, his Instagram post revealed that he underwent the drug test five times.
