Xia Vigor was not the only one who got the attention of international media for her performance on the kids edition of “Your Face Sounds Familiar”.
On April 9, her fellow contestant Awra Briguela won the final showdown by imitating superstar Nicki Minaj.
Awra, who performed “Super Bass”—the eight biggest-selling single in the US in 2011—got the attention of US-based magazine Teen Vogue.
The magazine featured Awra on their website and described his performance “mind-blowing.”
The magazine article reads, “The 14-year-old had his Nicki routine down to a science. Everything, from his outfit (with the signature pink wig) down to his facial gestures, was sheer perfection.”
Additionally, Mashable Asia commended Awra for nailing Nicki’s signature wide-eyed expression up until the question-and-answer portion with the judges.
Awra took home ₽1 million and a trip for four to Jeju, South Korea.
