Veteran director Jose Javier Reyes sparked an online speculation regarding one of the most famous love team of today, AlDub. He asked his followers about the possibility of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza separating roles from each other.

TV viewers are now wondering why the tandem is in a decrease all of a sudden when they were the biggest hit back in July 2015. They were the huge stars behind the masses’ favorite ‘Kalyeserye’ in GMA Network’s noontime show “Eat Bulaga!”.
However, the show posted the significant decline on program’s rating in since the start of 2016. Their first movie as the main leads – “Imagine You & Me” failed to surpass other love team’s (KathNiel, LizQuen, JaDine) records in the box office. Even their first teleserye together is not that phenomenal.

“Eat Bulaga!” tried to revive it by introducing ‘MaiDen’, a fresher version of AlDub. Still, their chemistry is slowly fading its appeal because this strategy didn’t work.
Alden and Maine’s fans are reacting over Direk Joey’s tweet. Some believe that the love team can still be saved from a “career suicide” if they are given quality projects from the network.
Because of the flooding comments and replies, Direk Joey clarified with the fans that he was just dropping an inquiry and that his respect for the two is high. He did not intend to spark hate against the love team in any way.
In the end, he still wishes a bright future for AlDub’s career.
Direk Joey formerly worked with Alden and Maine as he was the director of their 2015 entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival: “My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore”.
The tandem is currently starring in their own teleserye titled “Destined To Be Yours” which will end in May.
