Beauty pageant fans were left in shock after a well-known page, Pageantogy 101, posted a Facebook status, claiming that Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. is now holding a general meeting.
The wrote, “There is a rumor circulating different pageant groups that BPCI is now holding a meeting for dethronement/ switching of title/crown.
“We are still confirming the news we are receiving.
“I really hope this Bb. Pilipinas (Official) issue is a hoax, if real #BinibiningPilipinas needs a serious help.”
After several minutes, the page seems like they have confirmed the rumor to be true. They updated their Facebook status, “Urgent meeting of BPCI board and Stella Araneta later at 1PM at Novotel.”
According to the page, the issues to be discussed includes dethronement, crown switching and backstage gown ripping.
UPDATE: CNN Philippines has confirmed that the new Bb. Pilipinas 2017 Intercontinental Katarina Rodriguez has “expressed she may not accept the crown.”
