- GMA Network’s brand new romcom show “I Heart Davao” is gaining negative comments that its purpose is to please the President because he’s a former Mayor of the place
Kapuso network proudly brings us another addition to their primetime block, “I Heart Davao”, which features a bittersweet love story shot in the picturesque Davao City.
Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez will play the leading roles of Hope and Ponce. They will be joined by Benjamin Alves and the supporting cast.
There were talk going around that the show aims to impress President Rodrigo Duterte who was the former Mayor of the city and currently resides in it.
According to its producer, Patty Gutierrez,
“Wala naman po kaming kinikilingan, serbisyong totoo lamang.
“Ang amin po, gusto po naming makuha ang Mindanao at Visayas viewers kaya po namin ginagawa ito.
“Kapag ito po ay nagtagumpay, magustuhan po ng taga-Mindanao lalung-lalo na ng taga Mega-Manila, we are hoping to do more projects featuring other regions in the Philippines kasi napakaganda po talaga ng Pilipinas, e.
“Gusto po naming makita ito lahat ng mga Pilipino bilang serbisyo na rin sa ating bayan.”
80% of the show will set in the heart of Davao. Even the cast were fascinated by the place but they stressed that the main focus of the serye is the wonderful plot.
Carla Abellana shared a few details.
“Yung story, yung premise maganda din.
“Although hindi naman ‘yan spectacular kasi you’ve seen naman other stories ng mga may heart transplant, pero yung premise maganda pati yung twist din na nag-meet yung characters namin not knowing that we have something in common.
“Na yung girlfriend niya pala, napunta sa akin yung puso.”
Tom added, “Parang serendipitous.”
It will air starting monday, June 26, replacing the successful “Meant To Be” of Barbie Forteza.
