- And the one that made it possible was none other than the phenomenal AlDub.
MEGA Magazine re-shared a series of photos of some of prominent celebrities that graced the issues of their magazines.
Stars such as Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis were re-featured by the lifestyle magazine, along with love teams KathNiel and JaDine.
But did you know there’s one particular love team that skyrocketed MEGA to the top?
The magazine’s October 2016 issue, featuring the phenomenal love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, known as AlDub, became their best-selling issue ever.
Shot by photographer Mark Nicdao, AlDub’s Moroccan shoot has two different covers — one featuring Maine, titled “Breaking Barries”; and another one with Alden titled “Beyond Borders”.
The fashion magazine revealed on their Instagram account that it was their “highest selling issue in the history of MEGA to date.” They also added that MEGA had to reprint three times to fulfill the demand by their fans.
They wrote, “Due to the colossal success of this MAKING MEGA, this issue had to be reprinted thrice.”
Well, it’s not surprising at all since the love team topped the Google’s list of most-talked-about stars in 2015.
Last year, the multinational technology company announce that Alden was the most-searched actor in Google Philippines while Maine was second only to Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
