Regine Velasquez-Alcasid recently signed a contract with Viva Entertainment.
For some fans, the deal is a sign of her supposed big switch to ABS-CBN. However, the Kapuso singer clarified that she is not going to transfer to other network.
She clarified that the contract she signed with Viva was not a management contract. The 47-year-old singer also emphasized that she is happy how GMA Network takes care of her career. “My contract will expire, January of next year. I’m still with them,” she said.
Regine added, “They’ve been very good to me, after I gave birth, I was given time to be with Nate. I appreciated it, we have a relationship. Parang Viva, meron ka na rin relationship, pamilya na. Okay rin naman sa akin to also work with other people, pero I’m really good with GMA.”
She then quipped, “At saka, parang wala na rin naman akong paglalagyan sa Channel 2, baka sa bubong na lang ako.”
Meanwhile, the “Mulawin VS Ravena” actress revealed that there is a possibility for her to star in a Viva movie.
“Nami-miss ko rin (na gumawa ng pelikula) siyempre; it’s nice to play a character na hindi ikaw. Parang nagkakaroon ka ng outlet, ngayon lang kasi, pinipili ko lagi ang project na gagawin ko,” said Regine.
But she stressed, “Gusto ko yung gustong-gusto ko talaga, ayoko na rin yung parang kagaya before. I miss doing movies but I wanna make sure, kasi whatever work I do, it’s time away from my son. Iniisip ko kung worth it… it’s such a big deal for me kasi nanay ako.”
Moreover, the contract she signed with the Kapuso network is a recording contract. The Kapuso singer will also stage a concert on October 23 at SM MoA Arena.
“So far, I’ve recorded four out of thirty. Kahit tulog ako, nagre-record ako,” she joked. In the end, she emohasized, “Excited kaming lahat na gawin itong album and concert.”
