Primetime has never been this heavyweight when in comes to romance and comedy as ABS-CBN premieres the much awaited Koreanovela about a female weightlifter with a swag in “Weightlifting Fairy” beginning this Monday (July 10) on ABS-CBN.
“Weightlifting Fairy” was a big hit in Korea that is why Pinoy Asianovela fans eagerly anticipates its PH television airing. It instantly drew loud cheers when ABS-CBN head of Integrated Acquisitions and International Distribution Leng Raymundo announced in this year’s Pinoy Media Congress that the series is one of the Asianovelas to watch out for this 2017 and also created a buzz online when ABS-CBN aired its promo plug.
Follow the journey of Kim Bok Joo, a young lady who enters the world of weightlifting to fulfill her father’s dreams. Despite the hardships, Bok Joo remains determined to prove herself and to make her family proud. Her lovelife, however, is on the line because not many guys like women in the weightlifting team.
One day, she meets Jung Joon Hyung, a collegiate swimmer who’s swimming career is also on the line by a mistake he made in one of his competitions. As they cross paths, the Joon Hyung and Bok Joo realize that they know each other way back when they were still kids.
The two become good friends and just as when Joon Hyung is starting to fall for Bok Joo, the latter crushes over her weight loss doctor Jung Jae-Hyi who happens to be Joon Hyung’s brother.
Where will their love story go? When your fit as friends are you automatically fit to become lovers? How will Joon Hyung fight for his love for Bok Joo? How can Bok Joo balance weightlifting and love at the same time?
