She won P25,000 in Sunday’s “I Can See Your Voice” and was all smiles throughout the show until the finale, when cancer-stricken flight attendant Lovely “LJ” Corpuz broke into tears, revealing her battle against adrenal cancer and how the prized money will help fund her chemotherapy.

Her fighting spirit and determination to live moved the SING-vestigators so much that Andrew E spoke in behalf of the group that they will give a donation to help LJ.  Host Luis Manzano and guest celebrity player Jolina Magdangal also made pledges to help LJ.

“Aside from the help coming from the SING-vestigators, I will personally pledge P250,000 for your chemotherapy,” Luis expressed.

Last Sunday, Jolina successfully identified LJ as the real SEE-nger among the six contestants.  They performed a duet and sang “Kapag Ako ay Nagmahal” in the final round.

After impressing the studio audience with her singing prowess, LJ started to get emotional when it was revealed that she is currently battling stage four adrenal cancer, a rare type of cancer found at the top of the kidneys.

She found out that she had contracted the disease in 2014 but the doctors were able to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, another tumor had developed last year, leading the doctors to conclude that she is already in the fourth stage of her illness.

Despite her condition, she remains to have a positive outlook in life.

“Currently, I’m taking chemotherapy. I just motivate my mom by saying that I will doing my best. I will join and line up for these contests to help me extend my life because I want to take care of my mom until her last breath,” LJ shared.

This has led Jolina to express her gratitude to be a guest in the show as it allows her to help people like LJ.

Apart from bringing joy to the lives of viewers week after week, “I Can See Your Voice” also showcases Filipino talents and inspires people through the heart-warming stories of its contestants.

Such is the story of Ton-Ton Leonardo, one of the contestants last Saturday (Sept. 30). A construction worker who juggles his priorities for his family and his dreams of being a famous singer, “I Can See Your Voice” paved the way for him to achieve his dreams. Despite having lost in the competition, guest star Randy Santiago promised to include the contestant in his gigs.

Catch Eva Eugenio and Martin Nievera as they try their luck in guessing the SEE-nger this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Don’t miss more of the inspiring stories from the contestants of “I Can See Your Voice” every Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 PM in ABS-CBN.
