Reigning Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza is confident that Mariel de Leon will get a back-to-back win in this year’s pageant.
Bb. Pilipinas-International 2017 Mariel de Leon is currently in Tokyo, Japan for the Miss International 2017 beauty pageant. Former and reigning Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman and Kylie Versoza are confident for the 23-year old beauty queen to get a back-to-back win.
“Nung time ko, sinasabi na talaga sa amin na may speech na talaga and every year pare pareho naman siya ‘What will you do if you win Miss International?’ So yung sa akin bago pa ako umalis ng Philippines naka-ready na and meron na talaga akong speech. Pero few days before (ng coronation), parang hindi ko nararamdaman yung speech ko so binago ko and I think I talked about children ata,” Precious Lara shared her Miss International experience during her interview with PUSH.com.
Meanwhile, Miss International 2016 Kylie believes that it is not impossible for Mariel to win the crown.
“She’s doing a really good job and I’m looking forward sa paglaban niya talaga. It has to come from the heart you know. As for everything practice, makes perfect,” she said.
“Break natin yan! Break natin yan! Kaya yan! First back to back!” she answered when asked about the famous Miss International curse about winning a back-to-back.
On the other hand, Mariel felt overwhelmed for the support she was receiving from her fellow beauty queens.
“It’s really nice to have her support throughout this whole thing and we both are representing the Philippines and hopefully God willing, I get back to back,” she said.
This year’s Miss International Pageant will be held in Tokyo, Japan on November 14.
