MayWard was awarded as the Popular Love Team of the Year at the recently concluded won RAWR Awards 2017 held in Chaos at City of Dreams Manila last November 18. The loveteam that comprises of Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber defeated the more established on screen loveteams Aldub, Jadine, Kathniel, Lizquen, and Biguel.
Meanwhile, other newbie loveteams that are also included in the nomination were McLisse Joshlia and Kissmarc. MayWard started inside the Pinoy Big Brother house during the Lucky Season 7. Edward won as the 4th Big Placer and Maymay as the Big Winner. They were also together in a film “Loving in Tandem” as Shine and Luke.
In their acceptance speech, they thanked the people who helped them grow as a love team together. And also the people who voted and supported them for the said award. Edward started the speech thanking then trying to speak in Tagalog.
“Para sa inyo, tagalugin ko ‘to. Maraming salamat and I just want to say–”
Maymay, then, cut him off and encouraged him to thank the people in Tagalog. Edward, adorably scratched the back of his head and laughed nervously. Edward continued the speech but failing to speak in straight Tagalog.
“Dahil sa award na ‘to and for all your support. Lagi ko pong ibibigay ang lahat ng makakaya ko. Para ‘di masayang ang pagsuporta niyo sa amin. And, worth it ang lahat ng paghihirap ko sa tagalog.”
Maymay also thanked everyone who made this opportunity possible. Then, she raised her award and thanked “Sir Lion” for it.
“Unang una, nagpapasalamat kami sa Panginoon, siyempre, sa patuloy na blessing na binibigay niya sa amin at sa journey na ‘to. Ang sarap lang sa feeling na the more na naaappreciate ka ng tao atsaka sa mga tao na nasa paligid mo, the more mo ibibigat ‘yung best mo.”
“Maraming salamat po sa award na ‘to kasi parang isa na ‘to sa dahilan para maibigay namin yung best namin.”
“At sa lahat ng mga bumoto na mga tao, sa lahat ng mga naniwala sa amin. Siyempre sa lahat rin po ng bumubuo ng journey namin.”
