GMA Artist Center recently announced that they have gathered ten charming and talented guys to form an official Kapuso boy band. “One Up” is composed of young male performers who are selected because of impeccable appeal and stage presence.
The group seems to carry its name as all of the members are already achievers in the industry, indeed giving them a “one up” from its competitors. “Pop Star Kid” grand winner Ralf King, “To The Top” finalist Brent Valdez, “Spogify” finalist Yasser Marta, and “Starstruck 6” alumni Kevin Sagra, Jay Arcilla, Dave Bornea, Nikki Co, Prince Clemente, Joemarie Nielsen, and Arjan Jimenez are the ten handsome performers who completed the band.
“One Up’s” first-ever single entitled “Smile” had just been released and its already raking more than 26 thousand plays on Spotify and made available for streaming on iTunes.
On a blog conference this afternoon, the group members shared their excitement and pressure for their upcoming projects.
“Maraming bago, may mas magaling, may mas hindi. Marami,” one said. “Pagpapatuloy lang namin ‘yung pag-improve.”
According to them, they don’t feel any competition with other boy bands from rival networks. They even confirmed that once they’ve been together with ABS-CBN’s “Boyband PH” but were treated warmly by the members.
“Cool lang, ang easy lang ‘pag andiyan sila,” Yasser shared their experience with the Kapamilya groups.
