In La Luna Sangre, Angel Locsin has two roles: Lia Rodriguez and Jacintha Magsaysay. The latter role has always been a mysterious one to many. Jacintha also appears to have been left hanging.
In the press conference, Kathryn Bernardo finally answered who Jacintha really was. The 21-year-old actress also acknowledged the debate between viewers regarding different aspects of the story.
One of the most popular theories that circulated the Twitterverse came from Jacintha’s vague death scene. In an episode on January 10, Wednesday, people had already started speculating that Jacintha and Malia may be the same person.
When Jacintha magically disappeared, a close-up of Angel’s face showed the overlay of Kathryn’s features. Many took this as a theory that Malia may have traveled through time and became Jacintha.
Kathryn referred to the first two installments of the Moonstone trilogy. She also added the conflicting factors in the storyline of La Luna Sangre.
“I really appreciate it, na ‘yung mga fans especially ng ‘Lobo’ and ‘Imortal,’ talagang inaaral nila ‘yung bawat character, from the Moonchasers, to Prof T, to LLU (La Liga Unida), gano’n sila ka-hands on.”
Kathryn admitted that she watches La Luna Sangre in The Filipino Channel (TFC) and reads comments from fans.
“Nanonood kasi ako sa TFC (The Filipino Channel), ta’s nakikita ko ‘yung comments nila, na parang ako, ‘Oh my God, ang galing ng mga fans.’ Ang dami nilang questions, ang dami nilang theory na OK, ang galing nila manghula.”
Although she didn’t confirm any theories that may be true, she teased that the mystery between Jacintha and Malia will unravel soon. She added that the viewers will witness Angel’s purpose in the show.
“Isang malaking naiwan na question mark sa lahat, kung si Jacintha ba ang future Malia, kasi hindi pa masyado na-close ‘yung plot na ‘yun. Feeling ko ma-wi-witness nila iyon in the last two weeks, kung ano ‘yung naging purpose ni ate Angel sa pagpunta niya sa present world nina Malia at Tristan.”
Kathryn hoped that the episodes will satisfy viewers of the whole Moonstone trilogy.
“‘Yung mga tanong nila, dito maka-clarify. Sana masagot lahat in our last two weeks… Nagpapasalamat kami na ganoon nila tinutukan ‘yung show. Ibig sabihin na-involve sila rito.”
