Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla recently shared experiences over the past six years as an onscreen partner and later on, an official couple. In the upcoming movie, The Hows of Us, their characters will tackle a long-term relationship who questions why they still stay together.
Daniel shared that he and Kathryn relate to their characters in The Hows of Us.
“Itong storya na ‘to, malapit sa amin mismo ni Kathryn… Kasi parang na sa long-term relationship na rin naman kami ni Kathryn, 6 years.”
Daniel revealed that he and Kathryn sometimes question the reason behind staying together. There would be struggles and it isn’t always happy.
“Kami mismo, nagtatanong kaming dalawa ni Kathryn. Minsan, magtatanong ka rin, ano nga ba ang rason? Hindi lang namin kami iyon, I think. Sa lahat talaga, merong struggle, hindi naman palagi masaya. Itong movie na ‘to, tuturuan tayo, kami rin ni Kathryn — ano nga ba ‘yung mga dahilan?”
Daniel explained that he and Kathryn had a heart-to-heart talk about their relationship when they went on a vacation in Thailand. Some people already have something to hold on to and he wanted that something.
“Kasi ‘yung iba, nagkakaroon na ng family, so nagkakaroon na ng something to hold on to. Hawak ng asawa mo ‘yung baby niyo. Iba ‘yung epekto noon, e. Ito ang pamilya ko, e. Pero hindi pa kami doon, so ano pa?”
