Julia Barretto recently spoke up about Joshua Garcia’s recent controversy during Tonight with Boy Abunda. She declared that she learned her self-worth and self-value. She made her feelings very clear to Joshua. Although they’re okay, he is still trying to regain her trust.
One netizen, Jewel Medina, didn’t like how Julia took the issue. Jewel wrote how pretentious Julia was in the said episode. She continued that Julia flirted with another guy while she was in Siargao.
“Wow ang linis, linis ni Ate girl talking about self worth & self value. At d height of the issue, nakikipag landian ke Pat sa Siargao. Kasama pang nanood ng volleyball???”
Jewel continued that when the same thing happened to KathNiel and LizQuen, Kathryn Bernardo and Liza Soberano jumped to Daniel Padilla and Enrique Gil’s rescue. However, instead of defending Joshua, Julia chose to stay quiet and let the hot water drown her love team.
“When same thing happened to KN & LQ, Kath & Liza defended their men right away. Iba tong isang toh daming hang ups, nabubuhay sa nakaraan.”
Jewel noted that Joshua can stand on his own. She remarked that Julia only boosted her image because of the young actor. She also mentioned how Julia left Joshua to handle the issue on his own.
“But boi, she will not succeed. He can stand on his own. Nakalimutan ata ni ate girl na gumanda lang image niya dahil ke Hosh. Kawawa lang si Hosh parang iniwan sa ere ng best friend daw niya at love team.”
Jewel slammed Julia on using the issue to gain a good girl image which led to the destruction of Joshua’s good boy image.
“She was the missing voice during this ordeal. Instead of being at her side, “nilaglagpa.” Ginamit pa ang issue to gain that good girl image that she’s longing for. Just what kind of a partner/work mate is that!!!”
Jewel assured that the truth will be set free. Julia’s worth and value will only appear in the presence of other men, as per the netizen. She also remarked Julia’s acting when telling about Joshua re-gaining her trust.

Jewel continued to slam Julia on whatever reason she could find.

Julia took to her own hands to defend herself against Jewel. She wrote her feelings in the notepad of her phone, screenshot it and posted it on Twitter. She specifically tagged Jewel in the said post. Julia slammed the said basher for crossing the line. However, she continued to express her concern on how much energy Jewel was wasting on an issue which she and Joshua had already moved from.
Julia also wrote how she doesn’t usually call out bashers that often. She, then, continued to express her concern on Jewel’s wasted energy. She also noted that she and Joshua already moved on from the said issue.
“Jewel, this is not something I do often because my mom would always say “choose you battles”, but you seem to be crossing the line and I’m starting to be concerned about you- with the amount of energy you’re wasting on an issue that both Joshua and I have moved on from and an issue you aren’t fully involved in or aware about.”
Julia understands how the issue affected Jewel. She also noted that just because Jewel was affected doesn’t give her the right to attack her. Jewel doesn’t know half of the gravity of the situation.
“I understand how affected you are and same with the rest of you. But I also believe that how it’s affecting you emotionally does not give you the right to attack anyone, particularly me, if you don’t even know what’s happening behind the cameras and social media. You don’t understand the gravity of the situation and you can’t simply hate what you can’t understand.”
Julia also shared that nobody really knows what she and Joshua usually go through. She added that people only know something about their relationship when they chose to share about it.

Julia continued that Jewel may never understand how much love and respect she and Joshua have for each other. She also noted that everything they do are to protect each other.
“Jewel, I don’t think you understand the amount of love and respect both Joshua and I have for each other. The things we both do to protect each other and that in trials like this how much we hold onto each other for strength just so we don’t give the people who are trying to put us down the power to actually put us down. We will get up and stand up together.”
Julia also added her message to Jewel.
“As for you, Jewel, I hope today treats you well. I hope you focus on the things that will fill your heart up with only positivity and love. Be kind to your soul for how you treat it, will reflect how you treat others.”
