- Vice Ganda will receive the first-ever Dolphy Lifetime Achievement Award.
- However, Gorgy Rula pointed out that it should be given to Vic Sotto.

Vice Ganda recently went on a Twitter rant about Gorgy Rula’s article, “FAMAS: Vice, naunahan pa si Vic sa Dolphy Award.“ In Vice’s Twitter rant, he also suggested solutions in order Gorgy to be happy on the comedian’s recent achievement.
Gorgy answered back on the said rant on another article titled, “Vice Ganda, deserving bang maging unang recipient ng Dolphy Lifetime Achievement Award?”
In the said PEP Alert article, Gorgy wrote that Vice may only be tired and groggy after being on a long flight. He continued with why he would want Vic Sotto to receive the said award instead of Vice.
“Hindi ko na po sana sasagutin ang mahabang litanya ni Vice Ganda na ipinost sa kanyang Twitter account kaugnay sa komento ko sa item dito sa PEP Alerts na: “FAMAS: Vice, naunahan pa si Vic sa Dolphy award…” Naisip ko, kasi galing sa mahabang biyahe ang comedian/TV host at baka groggy (o Grogy Rula ba?) lang siya kaya kung anu-ano na ang naisip niya nang nakarating sa kanya ang item na yun. Nabanggit na po ng dalawang ka-Troika ko (Noel Ferrer and Jerry Olea) ang ilang puntos kung bakit ako nakapagkomentong si Vic Sotto dapat muna ang gawaran ng Dolphy Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Dolphy and Vic have a lot in common and already had projects together. When Dolphy and Vic starred in Dobol Trobol in 2008, the late King of Comedy shared how the Prince of Comedy will be the only one to dethrone him.
“Heto na lang po ang ilan pang karagdagang gusto kong iparating. Ang una po kasing pumasok sa isipan ko ay kung ano ang koneksiyon ni Mang Dolphy bilang King of Comedy kay Vic na tinaguriang Prince of Comedy. Nung ginawa nila ang Dobol Trobol taong 2008, ilang beses bang sinasabi ni Mang Dolphy sa mga interviuew niya na walang ibang papalit sa trono niya kundi ang Prince of Comedy na si Vic Sotto.”
Although their movie remains a promo, Gory also added that Dolphy still said those statements. He shared that when FAMAS announced there will be such award, he immediately thought of Vic as the winner.
However, he was wrong, Vice won the award. He also added that it was his own opinion, people can either agree or disagree.
“Puwede nating sabihin, “siyempre promo ng pelikula nila,” pero sa totoo lang, sinabi pa rin yun ni Mang DOlphy. Kaya nung binanggit sa press launch ng FAMAS na ngayong taon ay first time nilang igagaward ang award na Dolphy Lifetime Achievement Award, si Vic Sotto ang unang pumasok sa isipan ko. Pero nagkamali ako, si Vice Ganda pala. Kaya ang initial reaction ko sa aking komento sa item na yun sa PEP Troika, dapat kay Vic muna bago nila ibigay sa iba, kagaya ni Vice. Iyon po ay opinyon ko lamang. Puwedeng ayunan o kontrahin.”
Gorgy also noted that Tito Sotto, Vic and Joey had received a Lifetime Achievement Award from FAMAS. The trio received the said award because of the longest-running noontime variety show, Eat Bulaga.
“Ang isa pang nakita kong basehan, tatlong taon na ang nakararaan, sa 63rd FAMAS Awards, ginawaran sina Tito, Vic and Joey ng Lifetime Achievement Award ng FAMAS. Ito ang maituturing na pinakamalaking special award ipinbamamahagi ng naturang award-gicing body. Kasama si Vic Sotto diyan. At kaya ginawaran ng naturang special award hindi dahil sa larangan ng drama, aksyon o pagkanta, kundi dahil sa naachieve bila sa pagpapatawa bukod sa hosting job nila sa longest-running noontime variety show, ang Eat Bulaga.”
Gorgy ended his section of the article with a message to Vice. He won’t be too pretentious if he told Vice that he’s happy for his achievement. He hopes the comedian never intended to insult him. Gorgy is happy that Vice has the energy and will to make people happy.
“Parang ang plastik ko namang sabihin na “masaya ako sa nakamit mong tagumpay,” gayong hindi naman kami magkakilala? Pero salamat na rin, Vice, na sa kabila niyan ay nag-iisip ka pa rin kung paano ako pasayahin. Dahil sabi mo nga, you want to make people happy. Sana maraman kong totoo ‘yang sinasabi mo kahit hindi mo ako kilala. Sana walang bahid ng pang-iinsulto ang sinasabi mong ‘yan, dahil mababaw lang naman ang kaligayan ko. Sa totoo lang, masaya na ako kahit hindi na tayo nagkakilala ng personal. Napasaya mo naman ang madlang pipol. Okay na yun!”
