Celebrities recently reacted to a brawl which recently broke out in the middle of a game between Gilas Pilipinas and Australia Boomers in July 2, Monday at the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

At the end of the day, Gilas lost to Boomers by default after the brawl-filled game. As the Gilas bench was cleared, the Boomers on the bench never left their area in the middle of the brawl.

According to reports, the Australian players taunted the Filipino players during warm-ups. However, they didn’t do anything about it. With 4:01 to go in the third quarter, RR Pogoy shoved Nathan Sobey.

This then triggered a reaction from Australian forward Daniel Kickert who landed a hit at Pogoy.

Then, Kickert punched Pogoy as well which ignited the brawl. Jayson Castro and Andray Blatche went after Kickert, defending Pogoy. The Pinoys’ bench was cleared in the incident as the Gilas players went after the Boomers. Although a worthy note was raised as the Australian bench was never cleared.

Gary Valenciano noted that this hasn’t happened in FIBA before.
