Heavy rains enhanced by “Habagat” or Southwest Monsoon affected over 14,000 people and more than 3,000 families in Marikina City. The city government forced residents to evacuate once the alert level at the Marikina River reached the third alarm.
While the catastrophe was happening, Kapuso contract artist Nikki Co posted an insensitive tweet regarding the Marikina floods.
Nikki Co’s tweet
In the now-deleted post, Nikki theorized that residents are sinners which led to the Marikina floods.
“i have a theory na kaya laging baha sa Marikina kasi makasalanan siguro sila”
He dug his own grave further when he tweeted an “apology.”
“may nagtweet na friend ko. sorry guys.”
Nikki had since deleted his Twitter and deactivated the account.
