Alden Richards on his team-up with Kathryn Bernardo: “Nagulat po ako at, siyempre after, natuwa na pumayag siya. She really considered working with me, and ako rin naman po, looking forward to work with her.”
Alden Richards was grateful for the positive feedback of netizens on his team-up wth Kathryn Bernardo for their upcoming movie.
“Positive po, pero siyempre, may mga nag-react pa rin po na hindi okay,” said Alden during the interview of PEP.ph last Saturday, March 30 at the GMA Network Center.
“Pero mas lamang, mas looking forward… even si Tito Boy Abunda, nag-comment na it’s a fresh team-up, bago naman. Napakalaking relevance po kasi na ako, taga-GMA, at si Kath, taga-ABS, doing one film sa istorya.”
After finding out that Kathryn will be his leading lady, what was Alden’s reaction?
“Nagulat po ako at, siyempre after, natuwa na pumayag siya. She really considered working with me, and ako rin naman po, looking forward to work with her. Siyempre, marami na ring nagawa si Kath na very successful projects. It’s an honor for me to work with her.”
How is Kathryn in their storycon?
According to the Pambansang Bae, “Mabait, e. Kasi, kahit naman po nagmi-meet na kami sa labas before, very accommodating naman po si Kath and pleasing yung personality, very sweet. Ramdam ko po noong unang in-announce yung news ng storycon, parang ramdam ko na agad yung feel po na ibinigay sa akin ng mga taga-Star Cinema, yung vibes, yung atmosphere na kapag nagtatrabaho na po kami, parang vibes ng Victor Magtanggol.
“Ganoon po yung dating sa akin.”
The actor got excited when he found out that ABS CBN Star Cinema has a movie offer for him.
“Opo, pero siyempre, hindi pa rin puwedeng mag-full blast joy. Yung mga paalam, kung hindi pumayag, hindi puwede.”
Alden didn’t have a hard time asking for permission from GMA Network and APT Films of Mr. Tuviera to accept the offer of ABS CBN Star Cinema.
“Under contract pa rin po ako sa APT and ako po ang nagpaalam personally. Mabait naman po kasi si Mr. Tuviera kaya madali po siyang kausapin. Pumayag naman po agad. And GMA has been very good to me for the past nine years kaya wala po talaga akong masabi, very grateful lang po,” said the Kapuso actor.
As of now, the Pambansang Bae is conditioning and toning his body and is learning Cantonese in preparation for their shooting on April in Hong Kong. 11 pounds have already been deducted to his weight. From 179 pounds, he settled to 168 pounds in just two weeks. His goal is to lose weight up to 160 pounds.
Alden said, “Gulay, chicken na boiled lang, fish. Wala po akong karne, walang sweets, walang carbs, walang salt, walang fruits—kasi, matamis pa rin po yun.”
Alden Richards will appear again in ‘Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko’ which will be celebrating its 2nd anniversary on April 7, Sunday, as Nonoy the Pinoy Santa.
