Johanna Ismael Celis, or better known for her screen name ‘Kiray,’ is one of the few celebrities who switched to GMA Network.

Her first appearance on television was when she joined in the segment ‘Little Miss U’ of the defunct noontime show of ABS-CBN ‘Magandang Tanghali Bayan’ in 1999, at the age of 4.

Kiray has been with ABS-CBN for almost 19 years.

She casted on various television programs of the Kapamilya Network like Goin’ Bulilit, Mara Clara, Growing Up, and Luv U.

Her first big break in the industry of showbiz was the 2015 romance-comedy hit movie, ‘Love is Blind’ where she top-billed with Derek Ramsay and worked with the other artists such as Solenn Heusaff and Kean Cipriano under Regal Entertainment.

She also top-billed the movie ‘Love You To Death’ with Enchong Dee, still under Regal Entertainment.

Just like other celebrities, Kiray has established her own restaurant, the ‘Chickens and Fins’ and is very hands-on with it, together with her non-showbiz boyfriend who is her partner in running the business.

However, the 23 year-old actress decided to switch to GMA Network and became officially a Kapuso artist, after signing a contract with GMA Network last December 20, 2018.

But what could the reason why she decided to become a Kapuso?

In an interview, Kiray revealed her reason by saying, “Napag-isip-isip ko na nagiging stagnant na ang career ko (sa ABS-CBN) at hindi na naggu-grow kaya naisipan ko ang lumipat sa GMA.”

Kiray is set to appear on TV screens with her first project as Kapuso in the upcoming rom-com TV series of GMA Network entitled ‘Love You Two’ top-billing Gabby Concepcion and Jennylyn Mercado.
