In 2001, Rufa Mae Quinto instantly captured the moviegoers’ fancy when she played the role of a bimbo named ‘Booba’ in the mega-hit movie of the same title. Suddenly, the word “booba” was in everybody’s tongue to refer to a female who is mentally-challenged, or whose brains are in her boobs. In 2002, Rufa Mae went super comic as Booba, going ala-Wonder Woman in another hilarious movie: ‘Super B,’ Neo Films’ official entry to the Manila Film Festival.
Until now, ‘Super B’ is still popular with millennials as some scenes from the movie are still being used as memes on social media.
