- Lani Mercado called for respect and GMRC from netizens criticizing her husband
- She schooled by netizens who said that she should apply GMRC to herself
- Netizens demanded that her husband return the money he stole.
After all the bashing Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla got on social media, his wife Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla took to Twitter to defend him and to lecture people about Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC).
On Mercado’s Twitter account, she said that everyone should show respect and good manners on social media.
“You don’t have to be mean just to get attention. People are more appreciated when they show respect and GMRC even in social media.”

The reactions she received, however, were most likely very far from what she was expecting.

I was about to tweet something about Lani Mercado preaching GMRC, but I realized people would only acknowledge what's convenient for them anyway. *shrug*

Dear Lani Mercado Revilla, 1) u don’t have to plunder just to get attention & 2) stealing & not returning what u stole is not part of GMRC & we don’t appreciate people like u & your husband who have the nerve to demand but will never deserve respect. Sit down, please. Thank you! https://t.co/f1UC9lzLcz

Dear Mrs. Revilla, part of Good Manners and Right Conduct is returning what is not rightfully yours (remember how the court ordered your husband to return P124.5M?). When you've done that, you're welcome to tweet again about GMRC.

Most of the reactions had netizens calling Bong “magnanakaw” and demanding for her to return the money that her husband stolen.
Senator Bong Revilla was acquitted of charges of using the Priority Development Assistance Fund for personal profit. Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada were also charged with misuse of PDAF as well.
