On April 22, an official announcement was made on the popular Korean TV series ‘Descendants of the Sun’ Filipino adaptation and Dingdong Dantes will take on the main male lead and he on the same date he renewed his contract with GMA Network. Dantes will play the role of Big Boss or Captain Yoo Si-Jin in the said remake.
After the official announcement, there were already speculations that the remake taping is set to start next month. Meanwhile, there were names of actors and actresses that were fielded in as part of the cast.
Together with Dingdong, he will be joined by Jennylyn Mercado, Rocco Nacino, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
Mercado will be playing Beauty, a cardiothoracic surgeon, and the Big Boss’ love interest.
Meanwhile, Nacino will be playing Sergeant Major or Wolf. The actor is originally one of the cast of ‘Dahil sa Pag-Ibig’ and was replaced by Benjamin Alves.
And finally, Curtis-Smith will be playing Yoon Myeong-Joo or Moira. This character was the dream of the beauty queen-actress Winwyn Marquez, but sad to say she can’t be part of the remake because of her upcoming series ‘Dahil sa Pag-Ibig.’
