Kyle Echarri is now known for his role as Kristoff in the hit afternoon series ‘Kadenang Ginto.’ He is also one of the members of Star Magic Circle Batch 19. But was the role that has made him a household name originally meant for JK Labajo?
Kyle first joined showbiz as a contestant on ‘The Voice Kids Season 2′ where ended up as one of the top 6 finalists. Even if he isn’t a showbiz newbie, he has no problem being part of Star Magic Circle 2019 which is made up of mostly new faces.
“Oh, siyempre po, para sa akin I don’t look on anyone lower than me or higher than me. Kasi sa lahat po ng artistang nakilala ko, wala pong mayabang. Siyempre, you always keep your feet on the ground. Also, Mr. M has big plans for the whole group, hindi lang ako.”
As Kristoff Tejada of ‘Kadenang Ginto’ and part of the Gold Squad, Kyle was asked about his onscreen partner Francine Diaz.
“Sa ngayon po walang crush-crush. Siyempre kami po ni Francine ang love team ngayon, and hindi ko po alam kung may mabubuo or wala. Pero I’ll take each day as it goes kung mangyayari, mangyayari. Pero kung hindi, hindi. Sa ngayon focus po talaga sa trabaho.”
The actor is really focused on his career, adding that ‘Kadenang Ginto’ has been set to continue for the whole year.
“Sabi po ni Sir Deo (Endrinal) at least, the whole year daw po ‘yung Kadenang Ginto.”
When asked about him replacing the singer-songwriter JK Labajo, the actor believes JK still has its own spotlight.
“Hindi ko po masabi na I replace JK. He is still singing his very famous song, ‘Buwan.’ Actually, wala na po kaming communication.”
Kyle Echarri wants to be known as “Kyle Echarri” and not as a replacement.
“Hindi ko po masabi na ako ‘yung nag-replace sa kanya kasi I want to be known as Kyle Echarri.”
