GMA Network’s Starstruck, the original artista search on television is currently airing its seventh season and is all set to discover the next Male and Female Survivors.
The new season is still hosted by Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, this time with StarStruck Season One‘s Ultimate Survivor Jennylyn Mercado. The multi-talented Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara joins the show as a StarStruck Insider, the host of StarStruck’s online show, Inside StarStruck.
Heart Evangelista, Cherie Gil, and Jose Manalo took their seats as this season’s StarStruck Council. As judges, they will decide who will shine the most this season.
When the initial episodes aired on June 15 and 16, the StarStruck council earned numerous praises for the way they did their judging.
Being one of the council, Evangelista seemed to know the reason behind the viewers’ positive feedback.
“The council kasi, I think it’s a good mix,” Heart told GMA Network in an interview during the launch of her L’Oréal lipstick collection on Monday, June 17.
“Because a competition is not just all about kapag maganda ka or kapag hindi, tanggal ka.
“You also need somebody who will comfort you at the end of the day not just because you weren’t accepted doesn’t mean you’re not good enough,” Heart explained.
Heart also believed that GMA Network picked the rightful and experienced personalities to find the next ultimate star.
“I think GMA did a really good of getting the right mix of the people that will be part of the council
“Alam ng GMA lahat ng pinagdaanan ko sa buhay. So, sometimes it’s what you’ve experienced that makes you more credible. I guess, mas may wisdom ka,” shared the Queen of Creative Collaborations.
While the Starstruck Council receives praises from viewers, the judges of reality singing competition Idol Philippines judges seemed to have left a contrast. For the past few weeks, James Reid, Moira dela Torre and Vice Ganda, of ‘Idol Philippines’ panel were criticized by viewers for their judging skills. According to some Netizens’–Regine Velasquez was the only credible judge of the said competition.
