While many people were happy that Kadenang Ginto has been extended until 2020, GMA Network was apparently “shocked” that the top rating afternoon series will be continuing to entertain audiences with more confrontation scenes.
Apparently, GMA Network was expecting the show was going to say its goodbyes when ABS-CBN held a thanksgiving press conference for Kadenang Ginto.
Instead, the show’s extension until next year was happily relayed to the media.
“’Di ba ganu’n naman lagi sa ABS, kapag nagpa-thanksgiving presscon, magtatapos na? Kaya nagkagulatan nu’ng binanggit sa presscon na extended hanggang 2020. Nakakaloka talaga,” according to one GMA Network insider.
Kadenang Ginto has been consistently performing well in its timeslot. Its rival show Bihag will end on July 24 and will be replaced by Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko.
“Minamadali na kasi eere na. Alam mo naman ang GMA, bigla-biglang magte-taping ng bagong show. Kita mo nga ‘yung Prima Donna, taping na rin kasi eere na rin kaagad,” the insider added.
Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko features a horror theme. Will this be the series that will finally beat ABS-CBN’s Kadenang Ginto?
