- Kathryn Bernardo is open for a crossover to GMA Network
- Kathryn Bernardo stars with Kapuso actor Alden Richards in the Star Cinema movie Hello, Love, Goodbye
Kathryn Bernardo was once a Kapuso when she was chosen to bring to life young Jenny Dizon (adult played by Marian Rivera) on GMA Network’s adaptation of hit Koreanovela Endless Love in 2010. But her Kapuso stint didn’t last long since she starred as the young Bea Alonzo in Magkaribal and in the same year, she bagged the role of Mara David in the remake of the classic teleserye Mara Clara with Julia Montes.
Several hit series and movies later, Kathryn has become one of the Kapamilya Network’s top talents.
During the grand press conference for her film Hello, Love, Goodbye, since GMA Network let Star Cinema borrow one of its prime actors Alden Richards, Kathryn was asked if she’s open to working with GMA Network again.
“Ako, okay po sa akin. Kung payagan po nila, I would love to crossover naman,” Kathryn answered the question with optimism.
“Masaya kami ni Alden dahil parang nakikita namin dito sa movie na parang nawala ‘yong [divide] ng Kapuso at Kapamilya,” she said. Kathryn also believes their upcoming movie is a testament that collaborating on a project can be done, even if they are from different networks.
Meanwhile, Alden shared one conversation he had with director Cathy Garcia Molina as they did an interview at the movie’s story conference. “Nung nakita ni direk na magkatabi ‘yong mic ng GMA [at ABS CBN] sabi niya, ‘ay pwede pala’. Sabi niya sana ito yung start ng collaboration ng different networks, ng different artists, actors — na sa isang project magsama and to be able to tell a good story,” Alden said.
