- Alden Richards is grateful to director Cathy Garcia Molina
- The teary-eyed actor knelt down in front of her and gave her a tight hug
- The actor also hopes to do another Star Cinema film in the future
Alden Richards expressed his gratefulness to director Cathy Garcia Molina by giving her a tight hug, leaving the crowd in awe during the Hello, Love, Goodbye presscon held last July 9.
It happened after the filmmaker spoke about the actor, praising him and saying he was one of the talented actors she enjoyed directing.
“I have worked with so many actors na mababait at magagaling. Alden is one of them. Nu’ng sinabi nilang Alden ang makakasama ni Kathryn Bernardo, sabi ko, ‘Hmmm, mataba lang pero mukhang marunong umarte itong batang ito,” she said drawing laughter from the crowd.
The Box Office director also admitted that she thought wrong about Alden’s acting.

“Nagkamali ako. Hindi siya marunong. Magaling siya. At napakabait na tao,” she said.
Upon hearing this, Alden became teary-eyed and knelt in front of the director to give her a tight hug.
In an interview with reporters after the press conference, Alden explained why he became emotional during the event.
“Coming from direk Cathy, sobra akong na-move, na-touch. Hindi ko akalain na ganu’n ’yung magiging effect ko kay direk while doing this film. Siguro ganu’n talaga, you just be yourself and let other people speak for you,” he said.
The Kapuso actor also took to Instagram to express his thanks to the director.
“This is probably one of my highlights as an actor. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from you, Direk. For your words of wisdom and encouragement, Direk Cathy…thank you,” Alden wrote.

The Kapuso actor then went on to thank Kathryn Bernardo for agreeing to do this movie with him.
“Nagpapasalamat ako siyempre kay Kath for accepting me and for direk Cathy and for Star Cinema for considering me,” he said before being cut off by Bernardo who corrected his statement.

“Not considering, but for choosing you. You’re the only option. No other options,” she said to Alden.
The two also admitted that the cast members of the movie developed an unexpected friendship and missed each other ever since they finished the shoot.
“Mami-miss ko ’yung nabuong friendship dito. Sabi nga niya kanina, napaka-genuine ng lahat ng nangyari dito. Wala kaming pinilit and all,” said Bernardo.
“Hindi ko in-expect na mag-jive lahat na ganito kagulo. Happy kasi ako sa mga promos makakasama ko pa sila pero after that, sana hindi pa doon mag-end. May nabuong friendship and we are very happy,” she added.
Alden said he’s already missing their bonding moments while filming in Hong Kong and is happy about their friendship despite him coming from another network.
“Doon sa Hong Kong, hindi ABS-CBN, hindi GMA. It’s family. ’Yun ’yung nabuo. Siyempre ’yung mga bondings namin when we do presscons and mall tours together, ’yung samahan talaga,” he said.
“After the movie, kasi siyempre ’yung schedule ko, ni Kath and nu’ng iba naming mga kasama, iba iba na, so talagang conscious effort talagang magkita kita. Pero ’yun ’yung mamimiss ko talaga, ’yung samahan namin dito.”
The actor was also asked if he is planning on doing another Star Cinema film and he replied in the affirmative.
“Sana po. Kung meron man pong offer, hindi ko tatanggihan ’yan. Siyempre po, with the blessing pa rin po ng GMA kung papayagan pa rin po ako. Pero I’m still looking forward to do films with Star Cinema and other production houses,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kathryn is also open for opportunities with another network if she will be permitted.
“Kung meron silang offer na swak and, of course, pinayagan ako ng Kapamilya network, why not? Basta daanin natin sa magandang usapan lahat. Like ’yung sa kanila, hindi siya naging mabilis. Tatrabahuhin talaga. But yeah, I am very open naman,” she said.
The film Hello, Love, Goodbye features the story of Ethan, a bartender who is keen on romantically pursuing Joy (Kathryn Bernardo), a domestic helper who is wholly dedicated to providing for her family.
Other cast members of the anticipated movie include Maymay Entrata, Lovely Abella, Kakai Bautista, Jeffrey Tam, Joross Gamboa, and Jameson Blake. Hello, Love, Goodbye will be shown in cinemas nationwide beginning July 31.
