Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4 ex-housemate, Yves Flores stars together with Angie Ferro, Meryll Soriano, Royce Cabrera, and Ma. Isabel Lopez in the 2019 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino entry, Lola Igna.
The entry was directed by Eduardo Roy, Jr., as one of the full-length films that are part of the Sandaan Feature Showcase showing from September 13 to 19, 2019 in all cinemas nationwide.
During a September 5 press conference, Yves shared how busy he has been.
“Hindi lang kasi ako nakikita sa TV kasi after nung Hanggang Saan last year. After nung show na yun, may show na ako, e. Ginagawa na namin [noon hanggang] ngayon. Pero ang problema kasi, matagal na. Kaya hindi ako masyadong nakikita sa TV ngayon dahil maraming trainings kasi tungkol siya sa story ng sundalo, e.”
Yves was referring to his comeback teleserye project with Gerald Anderson, A Soldier’s Heart.
He added, “So, ang tagal na naming hinihintay kasi ang daming problema.
“Ang daming problema sa AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines), sa artista, sa cast, yung sa script kasi papalit-palit.”
Is the delay in shooting something to do with Gerald’s controversial break-up issue with long time girlfriend Bea Alonzo?
“Well, di ko rin masabi. Di rin naman siguro, pero dahil yun nga, wala pa kaming timeslot, natagalan. Kaya nga pansin naman ng mga tao na, ‘O, nasa’n ka na, nag-quit ka na ba or ano?’ Hindi. Every year naman, sunud-sunod. Yun ngang this year nga, after nung show ko, gumawa pa ako ng pelikula, e, yung Block Z, which is na-move din,” he explained.
The controversial issue started after Bea Alonzo posted a cryptic message on Instagram insinuating about cheating. After she liked a photo of Gerald and Julia Barretto, people assumed she had been referring to her then-boyfriend Gerald and his Between Maybes co-star Julia as the cheaters in question.
Gerald, on the other hand, denied there was a third party and insisted that he and Bea broke up mainly because of a series of fights they had.
Meanwhile, the A Soldier’s Heart cast has been undergoing training. Have his castmates noticed how Gerald has been dealing with the controversy?
“Siguro, natural lang naman siguro na maapektuhan yung tao, di ba? Siguro kahit ako naman, galit sa akin lahat ng tao, siyempre malulungkot talaga ako. Ano lang, typical siguro, tahimik, nag-iisip. Pero hindi naman masyado, e. Wala, chill lang siya. Hinahayaan niya lang. Sabi rin naman namin sa kanya, ‘Lilipas din lang naman ‘yan. Hayaan mo muna sigurong mag-ingay yung tao.’ Pero okay na siguro,” Yves reveals.
He added, “Well, nagtatanong kami, pero siyempre alam mo na, hinahayaan na lang namin. Private yun. Sa kanya na yun, ayaw na naming makialam kung ano man ang desisyon niya.”
Together with Yves and Gerald in the upcoming teleserye are Nash Aguas, Elmo Magalona, Vin Abrenica, Angelo Ilagan, and Carlo Aquino.
There is currently no known release date for A Soldier’s Heart.
