Albert Martinez’s comeback wasn’t warmly welcomed by Kadenong Ginto viewers.
After concluding The General’s Daughter, Albert returned to Kadenang Ginto.
On October 9, Robert Mondragon (Albert) re-joined ABS-CBN’s top rating afternoon teleserye. With his absence from the series, the return of his character should be an exciting television event, but the opposite happened.
Viewers did not seem to be ecstatic at all with his return as it was not warmly welcomed in terms of TV ratings.
For the longest time since its premiere, Kadenang Ginto has always lorded its timeslot both nationwide and NUTAM, beating all its past competitors.
But a few weeks after Albert’s character’s return, its Kapuso rival Prima Donnas was able to beat the long-running Kapamilya afternoon series.
In a twitter post by GMA Drama, it was revealed that Prima Donnas was able to overtake Kadenang Ginto on AGB NUTAM People ratings.
The Kapuso afternoon drama edged out Kadenang Ginto last October 22 by 0.5% at 8.2% vs 7.7%.

The latest episodes of Kadenang Ginto featured Robert’s reunion with his family: Romina, Cassie, Daniela and Marga. But prior to their most awaited reunion, Romina and Cassie had to endure life threatening ordeal with Eva who kidnapped them and almost killed Romina. Good thing Robert was there to rescue his wife and daughter.
Prima Donnas on the other hand featured Lilian’s quest to learn if Brianna is really one the three Donnas. To find the truth, Lilian tried asking Brianna about her past. Lilian’s mother also tried to find the truth by searching for a birthmark on Brianna.
Can Kadenang Ginto reclaim its position? Or will Prima Donnas hold on to their lead in AGB?
