- Robin Padilla defended his wife’s decision to go to the US and give birth to their second child.
Action star and known die-hard Duterte supporter Robin Padilla didn’t mince words when he addressed the comment of a netizen who tagged his wife Mariel Rodriguez as a ‘birther’.
In an Instagram comment, Padilla blasted the netizen who questioned Mariel’s decision to give birth to their children in the US.
On September 28, Mariel posted on Instagram an update about her pregnancy days after flying to the US to give birth to their second child. Mariel also gave birth to their first child Isabella in the US in 2016.
“I had an ultrasound today. I saw Gabriela 👶🏻 she is beautiful!!!,” she said
“Another update is her head is now down getting ready for delivery. Pls pray with me I really want to push for another vaginal birth. Enjoying the last stretch of my pregnancy,” Mariel added.
Although the post gathered well wishes, one netizen @georg_supreme shared dissent about Mariel’s decision to go to the US to give birth. In a now deleted comment, the netizen even tagged the Instagram account of US President Donald Trump pointing out that Padilla only goes to the US to give birth which makes her a birther, a policy not allowed by the Trump administration.
That comment didn’t escape Mariel’s husband Robin as he lashed out saying it is Mariel’s right to choose to give birth in the US since she is an American citizen.
“Wala kayong pakialam sa asawa ko dahil amerikana sya at karapatan at kalayaan niya na magpakasarap sa amerika at karapatan ko at kalayaan ko magpakamatay dito sa Pilipinas,” said Robin.
He also lectured the netizen about nationalism and their love for the country.
“Ang pagiging filipino american ay hindi pagtataksil sa Inangbayan Lalo na ang asawa ko as US citizen at ako naman ay may lahing native american mas amerikano pa kame sa inyong painglis inglis at nakatira dyan sa estados unidos at mas pilipino pa kame sa kanino man, “ he added.
In the end, the actor said instead of saying negative things about other people just do something good for themselves.
“If you cant say or do something positive to others at least Do something good for yourself.”
