- JC de Vera talked about his experience as a first-time dad

In a recent interview with the press, actor and model JC de Vera openly shared his experience as a first-time father to his one-year-old child Lana Athena with non-showbiz partner Rikkah Cruz.
“Sa status ng buhay ko ngayon talagang nakakasindak kasi may sarili ka nang family, inaalagaan ko yung asawa ko pati yung daughter ko.Tina-try kong maging responsible, maging very good provider,” JC said.
The General’s Daughter’ star said that he is still in a process of learning of fulfilling his duties as a husband and a first-time father.
“Madami pa akong pinag-aaralan sa pagiging tatay at sa pagiging mabuting asawa kaya tuloy-tuloy lang yung mga sindak,” he explained.
JC is planning to stay in showbiz but he knows it may not be for forever. JC said he also has other options to earn an income.
The actor even joked that he might consider working as a call boy after his acting career ends.
“Siguro, worse comes to worst? Gaya na lang ako dun sa Quezon Ave.Hahaha!” he laughingly said.
Apart from acting ,the actor is currently busy with his restaurant businesses. He opened his restaurant The Burgery in 2012 and recently he and his business partners opened a bar/restaurant at the back of ABS-CBN called Public. He also has the Rustic Box Express, which offers rice meals in a box as food-to-go in malls.
“Meron. Alam niyo naman na couple of years na ako nag-start na mag-venture sa ibang bagay. Meron akong a couple of businesses na nagru-run until now. Hindi naman ako natapos sa isang business meron pa naman akong ginagawang iba ngayon.
“Ngayon meron akong sinisimulan na construction naman so very, very different sa line ko ngayon. Very different sa pagtayo naman ng restaurant.”
JC was first offered a basketball scholarship in Colegio de San Juan de Letran after he graduated from high school in Colegio San Agustin – Makati but rejected it to pursue his acting career. He started his showbiz career in 2003 when he was cast in Click. He was named as GMA Network’s Drama Prince but he later transferred to TV5 in 2010, and finally to ABS-CBN last 2013.
He was known as Maj. Ethan Del Fierro, Angel Locsin’s love interest, in The General’s Daughter.
