- Boy Abunda spoke up about Gretchen Barretto’s silence and refusal to do interviews

King of Talk Boy Abunda was recently asked for his opinion about Gretchen Barretto’s issues with sister Marjorie in line with her refusal to do interviews.
The actress recently figured in a quarrel with her sister Marjorie during their father’s wake last October. This then led them to trading barbs online.
The Tonight With Boy Abunda host said that he hasn’t yet conversed with Gretchen so he refused to comment about the long-running feud of the Barretto sisters.
He stated, “Personally, I have not spoken to Gretch. I have not spoken to any of them but she will always be one of the closest friends I have.
“Wala akong masyadong alam eh. Ayokong makialam masyado sa mga bagay na di ko alam ang detalye masyado. Hindi ko alam,” Abunda explained to the entertainment press.
“Kailangan mo talagang makipag-usap. Napaka-ticklish nung issue. Hindi ka pwedeng magtingi-tingi eh. Kaya tama yung suggestion nila na sana kung meron kang package ng The Buzz na bubusisiin mo talaga pero kung magtitingi-tingi ka…bitin,”h e added.
Abunda is known to be close friends with Gretchen. Given this,h e then said that he understood why Marjorie opted to be interviewed by journalist and broadcaster Karen Davila instead of him.
“I understand that with so much love and respect naintindihan ko ‘yon.”
Though many are expecting for Gretchen’s response to her sister’s statements, Abunda agreed that Gretchen should avoid interviews for now.
“Oo. Ang pananaw ko kasi doon ay… but I have done some of the difficult interviews of Julia, of Marjorie and I’ve always tried to be as fair as I can. I’m not perfect pero naiintindihan ko na nagbago ang kanilang isipan.
“Naintindihan ko yon because without having to know the issues, without having to side because you shouldn’t.”
The popular host then said he loves Gretchen dearly and further explained that he should not get involved with the Barretto’s feud for he has no knowledge about it.
“Hindi naman maisadadapuwa na kaibigan kong matalik si Gretchen kahit di kami nagkikita. I haven’t seen her pero iba yung aming pinagsamahan. Mahal na mahal ko yun eh… Sasabihin ko mag-usap muna tayo. Blurred yung pananaw ko rin dahil ‘how far can I go? Di ba? How much do I know? Makikisawsaw ba ako sa isang issue na hindi ko masyadong alam? Ngayon iba na ang dynamics eh. Iba na talaga eh. Ibang-iba.”
In 2013, Gretchen became a guest host on the defunct talk show The Buzz mainly hosted by Abunda. Apart from this,the two also appeared together in several Kapamilya shows in the past.
