The controversial wedding of Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli has led several celebrity moms to express their thoughts on Divine Geronimo.
Jaclyn Jose, whose unconditional love for daughter Andi Eigenmann despite the latter’s shortcomings and life decisions is well known, narrated that she never tried to obligate her kids to provide for her even a single centavo.
As a single mom, Jaclyn made sure to raise her children to be happy and never tried to meddle with their life decisions, so when the time comes when her children become parents themselves, they would know to stand on their feet.
At the end of her now-deleted Instagram post, Jaclyn advised parents to never obligate your children to pay for your dreams. Respect that your kids have goals too, and by giving them the freedom, they will learn the art of responsibility.
Meanwhile, during the perfume launch of Toni Gonzaga, Pinty Gonzaga was asked if she would find ways to prevent her youngest daughter Alex from marrying Mikee Morado. Pinty honestly stated that she has no intentions to prevent Alex and Mikee from getting married. The only thing she can do is to advise them as the parent, since Alex and Mikee are both of legal age.

In addition to that, parents must support their children regardless of their life decisions, even if it means you are against their chosen partner in life for they are entitled to have freedom.

“At matuwa ka na nandiyan ka pa, nakita mong masaya na ang anak mo, right? Dapat talaga may support ka sa anak mo. Kahit nga ayaw mo ang mapapangasawa ng anak mo, the mere fact na gusto ng anak mo yun, wala kang magagawa. Kasi, ikaw ba ang pakikisamahan ng mapapangasawa. Pabayaan mo ang anak mo. Sila naman ang magiging maligaya. At the end of the day, kung magkakagulu-gulo, anak mo ang masisisi, at hindi ikaw.”
