Celebrity host and former Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Deputy Administrator Arnell Ignacio once again defended the government of President Rodrigo Duterte.

During his contract signing with Viva Artists Agency, Ignacio told reporters how the government is doing everything for the good of its people.

Ignacio said there are good programs of the government that are not being cascaded to the people. That’s why he said the entertainment industry has a great role in spreading awareness and in conveying the messages and programs of the administration.

“Kapos ako kung paano ko ipapaliwanag sa inyo ito eh. Kaya diniscuss ko rin kay Boss Vic, tulungan mo ako kasi ahh yung entertainment must, must play a very vital role in cooperation with the government,” said Arnell.

He also praised and defended Pres. Duterte for often being misunderstood.

“Ay si Presidente kasi magaling sya sa ganito eh. Pero sya kasi meron syang plano eh…

“Ang mas malaki kong pinopoblema pagka yung kagaya namin sa DOLE, ang gaganda ng programa. Meron kaming programa for women, for children, for senior citizens lahat yan at lahat to may katumbas na financial support, may pondo.

“And yet…..lahat meron eh. Nanghihinayang ako kasi hindi nga naipapaliwanag ng maayos at naapreciate, nayayakap nung tao na natutulungan dun ako nanghihinayang,” Arnell explained.

Arnell was appointed OWWA Deputy Administrator in January 2018. Prior to his post in OWWA, he was first appointed as PAGCOR Asst. Vice President for Community Relations.

Arnell resigned fro his position in OWWA in February 2019 citing personal reasons.

With his contract signing with Viva, Arnell is expected to do a full showbiz comeback. Currently, Ignacio can be heard and seen on his DZMM radio program Labor of Love which started last February 14.

The show focuses on giving public service mostly for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
