Several celebrities took to social media to share their concerns on the state of President Rodrigo Duterte’s health and well-being.
During President Duterte’s public address Monday, April 7, it was quite obvious that he had lost weight.
“Hindi natin gusto ‘yan. Ayaw ko — ayaw kong magkulong ng tao. It gives me nightmares kaya ako pumayat. Kasi ako ‘pag nagising ng gabi, ‘pag umihi ako, hindi ako bumabalik sa kama. Diresto ako sa lounging chair at mag-isip na ako maabutan ako ng daybreak magtingin ako sa labas sa bintana paano ko… Sa akin lahat eh,” said Duterte.
His statement and appearance were causes of concern for celebrities and netizens who tweeted about their wishes for the President’s well-being.
MOR DJ Chaha said he hoped the President’s health is okay after seeing that he looked thinner.

Alex Diaz meanwhile said while the President is imperfect he deserves the prayers of everyone, especially since he is leading the country through this pandemic.
“Dear Mr. President, You are imperfect but you are trying and the tiredness and worry you showed last night was evident that you’re doing your best. Praying for The Philippines and our President. Opinions may differ but we’re all in this together.”

Meanwhile, Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo vouched for President’s health saying he’s still healthy and fit.
“Sa totoo lang po— nakita naman natin ang itsura niya— he’s actually fit and healthy but gaya ng sinabi niya hindi siya makatulog nang wasto sapagkat iniisip niya ang problema ng ating bayan,” said Panelo.
“Other than lack of sleep mukha namang okay ang Presidente,” he added.
