John Regala went on a Facebook live post to apologize to his friends and to Raffy Tulfo about his uncooperative behavior.
Currently at home with the permission of the doctors, the actor went on Raffy Tulfo in Action to set the record straight.
He said that his friends misinterpreted his behavior and that he doesn’t want to abuse the help he has been given.
“Nahihiya po ako na dahil na hindi ko po naging ugali na umabuso ng tao. Tama na po yung minsan akong tulungan,” said Regala.
“Yung sinasabi nila Chuckie, Nadia, at Aster na uncooperative ako, nalulungkot ako dahil na-misinterpret nila yung damdamin ko bilang isang tao na talagang nakakahiya po talaga. Ayaw ko naman po na dumating tayo sa point na pag-sawaan tayong tulungan ng tao,” Regala added.

In a joint statement released by the actor’s friends, Chuckie Dreyfus, Nadia Montenegro, and Aster Amoyo, they said that the actor has been very uncooperative with his medical treatment. They also claim that Regala has an allegedly terrible habit of self-medicating, which resulted in the decision to close the crowdfunding page.
The group assured people that the funds that were already collected will be turned over to whoever will be looking after the actor.
Tulfo defended Regala claiming that he understands how someone with liver cirrhosis behaves and that it is normal for patients to be restless.
“Sir John, nauunawaan ko po ang inyong kalagayan kasi yung tatay ko po, liver cirrhosis din ang naging sakit. Kaya nauunawaan ko kung bakit minsan kayo po ay makulit at pasaway. Ang mga tao na may sakit lalo na’t malubha, restless sila dahil palaging nasa isip nila kailan ba, alam mo na and naghahanap sila ng atensyon. Not once, but three times mga kamag-anak ko na nagkaroon ng malubhang sakit,” said Tulfo.
Tulfo also urged Regala to take his medication and asked if there anything else he could do to help out the actor.
“Inumin niyo po lahat ng gamot na ni-reseta sa inyo ng doktor. Kung ano po yung mga kailangan nyo jan, wag po kayong magatubili,” Tulfo added.
