The Real Reason Direk Bobet Vidanes moved to Brightlight, says Cristy Fermin

Showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin has revealed the reason It’s Showtime Director Bobet Vidanes moved to Brightlight Productions.

In her radio program, Cristy Ferminute, she said that Direk Bobet moved the move to Brightlight when ABS-CBN reduced the director’s talent fee. Fermin also added that ABS-CBN had more stringent management rules now than before.

“Ang dahilan daw nito ni Direk Bobet, ay kinaltas ang kanilang sweldo. At napakarami na raw na ipinagbabawal ng ABS-CBN ngayon,” said Fermin.

It’s Showtime is the brainchild of Direk Bobet. He directed the hit noontime show, alongside his other notable directorial work such as Pilipinas Got Talent, GAME KNB, Kapamilya: Deal or No Deal, and Wowowee.

Then with ABS-CBN’s shutdown, management decided to reduce costs, which led to the retrenchment of most of their assets and employees.

With ABS-CBN’s free TV return, those who remained received offers of projects but with reduced talent fees, as confirmed by Director Lauren Dyogi in one of his vlogs. They also gave their talents the freedom to decline the offer and switch productions or networks if they decide to.

This led to multiple prominent talents and crew of ABS-CBN to move to different networks with higher offers than what ABS-CBN can currently provide. The management understood this and amicably let their talents move on.
