Entertainment Production Director and Head Director for Pinoy Big Brother Direk Laurenti Dyogi admitted that Pinoy Big Brother wouldn’t be complete without Toni Gonzaga.
At a virtual media conference, the director was sharing his thoughts on PBB Connect being possible despite the pandemic and how excited is he to work with the hosts for the show.
“It’s a pleasant surprise kasi unang-una sa mga nangyayari sa atin, naghahanap tayo ng something familiar, wanna go back to experience na na-miss mo and having that opportunity to bring back PBB at this particular time.”
“Makasama ko ulit sina Bianca [Gonzales-Intal], Toni [Gonzaga-Soriano] ang ating housemates, parang ang sarap sa pakiramdam, exciting ‘yung pakiramdam na babalik ang PBB this year, this is something we can look forward too.”
In the 15th edition of PBB, Pinoy Big Brother: Connect, 14 housemates were selected o join the country’s iconic yellow house. The main host of the show is Toni Gonzaga whose “Hello Philippines, Hello World” greeting has been ingrained into the audience.
“Si Toni naman talaga ang poste ng PBB. From the start, dinaanan niya lahat yan. Siya ang ate ng lahat ng mga housemates. She’s the main host of PBB,” Direk Lauren said.
Toni has been one of the constant fixtures of PBB since the start of the show in 2005. So Direk Lauren said at every eviction and appointment, Toni will still be there.
“No eviction and no nomination will be complete without the Toni G. And of course she tells the story of the housemates. PBB is associated with Toni G,” he explained.
Joining Toni Gonzaga are the other 8 hosts for this seasons, which includes Kim Chiu who also got a special mention by Direk Lauren.
“Alam mo naman si Kim hindi yan masipag. Kulang yan sa sipag. Marami siyang time para gawin ang PBB. Basta PBB, hindi ka magdadalawang salita sa kanya. We are so grateful. Parang sobrang pamilya na.”
Direk Lauren said he is proud of the first PBB Teen Edition Big Winner’s loyalty to the show.
“Pag kailangan namin siya, walang pinag-uusapan, they will do it for the love of PBB. I love everyone talaga. Sobra rin ang pagmamahal ng buong staff sa bawat isa sa kanila,” he said.
This year’s additional roster of hosts also includes Richard Juan, Maymay Entrata, and Edward Barber so the public is updated all day on the PBB Connect housemates’ activities.
Enchong Dee, Melai Cantiveros, Edward, and Maymay are hosting the online show, while Richard hosts the updates.
Pinoy Big Brother: Connect is the ninth main season (and the fifteenth overall season) of Pinoy Big Brother, which premiered on December 6 on theKapamilya Channel, A2Z, and other digital streaming platforms.
