Several Netizens and social media personalities countered President Duterte’s statement that it is impossible to have a clean government.
In his recent statement, the President said he would do everything to address corruption in the government. However, he also said that it would be impossible to ‘perfectly’ rid the government of corruption.

“I would dedicate the last remaining months of my stay in the office of the President going after corrupt people,” he said in his latest public address.
“Do not expect me to entirely clean, pristine clean the bureaucracy. That is impossible, and cannot really be achievable,” said Duterte.
Netizen @markizophrenia disagreed with Duterte by citing the example of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto.
In his tweet, the Netizen said Mayor Sotto proved that a clean government is achievable and that other leaders can do it, too.
“No, Duterte. Clean government is achievable. Mayor Vico Sotto did it. If he can do it, then other leaders can do it, too. That’s why we have to #RegisterToVote #Halalan2022 “
