Veteran journalist Doris Bigornia was said of having a successful heart surgery after she was rushed to the hospital last February 21 due to a heart attack.

The update regarding the reporter’s condition was given by Bigornia’s daughter, Nikki.
On Monday, March 1, 2021, Nikki posted on Twitter that although her mother had a successful surgery, prayers are still needed for her speedy recovery.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nagdasal at patuloy na nagdarasal para kay mommy. Natapos na po ang surgery niya nung isang araw at successful po ito. Subalit, patuloy po kaming humihingi ng inyong mga dasal para sa tuluy-tuloy na recovery ni mommy,” she wrote.
Bigornia is one of ABS-CBN’s veteran journalists and field reporters. In 2006, she left the Kapamilya Network due to management issues and pursued freelancing as a reporter. However, in 2013, she returned and was given her own show, “Mutya ng Masa”, a current affairs program aimed at touching people’s lives. Aside from having her own program, she also hosts “Umagang Kay Ganda” while doing reports for “TV Patrol” and “Bandila”.
Meanwhile, lots of people offered the journalist their prayers and well wishes. Even Celine Pialago, with whom she’s not on good terms, prayed for her recovery.
In Pialogo’s Facebook post, the MMDA Spokesperson admitted although they had their differences, she does not want anything bad to happen to Bigornia.
“Miss Doris ‘yan, alam kong makaka recover din siya kaagad. See you soonest Mam. Get well soon. Our prayers are with you,” she wrote.
Bigornia also received well wishes from fellow Kapamilya journalists like MJ Felipe, Karen Davila, Dyan Castillejo, and Gretchen Ho.
