SM Supermalls continue to champion strong and empowered boss ladies as they hold a special bazaar called, Women at Work Pop-Up Market, in various malls across the country. Through the event, SM lent their platform to support local female-owned businesses and MSMEs. Happening this March, the Women at Work Pop-Up Market allows shoppers to explore different brands and other locally crafted products. Not only do you get to shop and have fun, but you also uplift other women and their businesses.

Over a dozen exhibitors joined the Women at Work Pop-Up Market in SM Baguio which sold a variety of products including food, self-care essentials, artisanal items, garments, and accessories, among others. Narda Capuyan, known as the Trailblazing Cultural Icon, was one of the exhibitors during the event. She and her namesake brand are famous for reviving the Cordillera Ikat, which is an old tradition of tying and dyeing segments of threads before the actual weaving. Shoppers were able to explore its distinctive products as it offers garments of different styles for men and women, home decorations, and many more. Also part of the fair were Amparo’s Apothecary, Succs and Caccs, Lee Ann’s Knitted Wear and, Everything is Pine, among others.

From beauty to fashion and everything in between, mallers are treated to a hodgepodge of retail brands born out of women business owners’ own love for the products they sell. At SM Megamall, for example, customers will see lady bosses in action. If you love the glam that makeup gives, you can pick a thing or two from Jess Wilson of Sunnies Face, whose venture has always been a dream of hers. From a line of lippies that were introduced in 2018, Sunnies Face has now grown to become one of the country’s most popular makeup brands.

Those who love a good glow-up will never go wrong with a good outfit, and that what makes Plains & Prints the go-to brand for eye-catching fashion pieces. For co-founder and vice president Roxanne Farillas, the clothes they offer their market is a reflection of how they celebrate women in all forms.

SM City Naga showed the “oragon” side of Bicolana entrepreneurs who showed off their exquisite products during the Women at Work Pop-Up Market in the region. Among the exhibitors were SiLigaya Food Products which offers bottled Bicolano dishes, Orange Country Enterprise which sells premier honey, FRBJ Muzic Mart which is a dealer of globally known musical instruments, and Himalayan Salt Shop Bicol which offers Himalayan salt products from Pakistan at reasonable price.

Likewise, shoppers at SM City Iloilo also had a wonderful time during the mall’s Women at Work Pop-Up Market, where some of the most successful women entrepreneurs in Iloilo were among the exhibitors. Arlene Juantong and her brands Bluejay Coffee and Sky Kitchen caught the attention of customers because of its delicious coffee and homemade frozen food. Other successful Ilongga entrepreneurs who are part of the market include Myka Ferlas of Salads and Wraps by Healthy Kitchen and Ana Marie Wharton of Spa Riviera.

Lastly, SM City Davao also welcomed several exhibitors for the Women at Work Pop-Up Market. The fair features three women organizations which are engaged in the production of locally made bags and other accessories.

They are the Tribal Women Weavers Association of Bansalan, Davao del Sur which showcased their handmade tangkulo and eco wallets. The Toril Kalambuan Association who has been assisting women communities in the southern part of Davao City proudly highlighted their home-style and wearable items such as bags made of batik cloth, necklace which are made from tribal beads other items such as wallets, bracelets, rosary, key chains and decorative magnets. Lastly, XABUKID, an organization of women from Digos, Davao del Sur showcased their handmade bags made from Inabal woven cloth. Other sellers include Raymundo’s Homemade Products, Skoops Ice Cream and Coffee for Peace.

The Women at Work Pop-Up Market is just a testament to SM Supermalls’ dedication to providing a fun and exciting shopping experience to women, and people of all gender, in the new world. The Women at Work Pop-Up Market is just one of the mall conglomerate’s many efforts this Women’s History Month, together with the 3.3 Women’s Crazy Sale, the Women’s Wednesday Sale, and a two-day webinar for female entrepreneurs in partnership with UN Women, among others.
