Ces Drilon, a veteran broadcast journalist, and former Bandila anchor–made a cameo appearance in ABS-CBN’s new hottest primetime teleserye Init Sa Magdamag episode on April 28, 2021. It is her teleserye debut since this was also her first time do acting.
Drilon portrayed a fictional character of herself where she is a TV host of the program Let’s Talk With C.
In the scene where Drilon appeared, she was interviewing JM De Guzman‘s character Peterson, a congressional candidate for the fictional province of Esperanza.
Drilon’s character in the teleserye, just as the same with her real life work, asked Peterson Alvarez about what should the people of Esperanza expect from a young candidate like him. She also asked if Peterson was worth their votes because of his vices such as women, partying, alcohol, and drugs.
Peterson was brave to admit that those were indeed his vices when he was younger. He also said that once in a while one will meet someone who can change his or her and he introduced his wife, Yam Concepcion‘s character, Rita.
Drilon posted on her Instagram account a behind-the-scene photo of her together with De Guzman and Concepcion where she wrote, “Nagbabagang balita! Now it can be told. Isa na akong teleserye star. Kasama ako sa pinakamainit na kaganapan ngayong summer.”

She then added, “Cameo lang naman po.”
Drilon was among the first workers laid off from ABS-CBN Corporation following the non-renewal of the Network’s franchise.
On August 31, 2020, employees were retrenched. Drilon joined the Network in 1989. She did not only co-anchored news programs such as TV Patrol and The World Tonight, but she is also the executive editor of ANCX, an ABS-CBN News Channel’s lifestyle block and publication.
Despite being laid off, she found a way to spend her time productively. She devoted her time to farming.

Currently, Drilon works as an online host in Kumu talk shows Bawal Ma-stress Drilon and Ces in the City, a talk show which she hosted before the pandemic.
