Kapamilya actor JM de Guzman shared his insight that love can change someone for the better.
In the media conference for the highly-anticipated ABS-CBN Star Creatives’ teleserye, Init sa Magdamag, de Guzman said that love is powerful.
“It’s a powerful thing: it can hurt you, it can kill you, it can make you better. It can make you someone na hindi mo aakalain pwedeng maging ikaw.”
Then, he stressed that their teleserye isn’t mediocre and that they dedicated their heart and soul to the series.
“Hindi po sya mediocre. Yung istorya, yung material.
“Talagang puso’t kaluluwa po yung inilatag namin dito para the best way we can tell the story. Talagang sana may makarelate, sana maingat kaming nandoon sa sitwasyon ng kagaya ng sitwasyon nung characters namin tatlo.”
As for his career, he said that he aims for maturity. He also added that acting helps him confront the weakest parts of himself.
“State siguro ng puso ko now is aiming for maturity. That’s why I love acting. That’s why isa sya sa passion ko talaga because again, to confront yung mga hindi ko alam na weak part pala ng pagkatao ko when presented a character na may ganitong conflict. Na may ganitong dynamics.”
He said that he does not judge his role to make sure that he won’t lose empathy for the character.
“Isa po sa mga ini-instill ko, before I portray a role is, I don’t judge the character. Mapa-kriminal man sya, masama man syang tao, kung ano man yung ginagawa nya, because mawawala po yung empathy.”
