Few hours ago, Maine Mendoza tweeted, “Hi tweeps! I’ve been receiving a lot of messages about my tweets several years ago. Sending my sincere apologies to those whom I have offended with my tweets way back then. It was my careless self talking and I didn’t mean to offend anyone. I am sincerely sorry.”

Before making a name for herself, Mendoza was not just known for her viral Dubsmash videos and as the Yaya Dub in the noontime show Eat Bulaga! segment, Kalyeserye–but she was fond of bashing local and foreign celebrities alike.
Through the years, I have learned to be more careful with my thoughts and words – and how it would affect the people around me. Hope you hear me out this time. Praying for everyone’s safety and sanity in these trying times. ♥️

Among the popular tweet she had was that of the almost seven-year series Daisy Siyete.
It was this tweet where Rochelle Panganiban, one of the lead dancers of Sexbomb and stars of the series, “May Daisy Siete papala. Nakakatawa! Puro ka jologsan ng Sexbomb. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck!”
An actress was also Mendoza’s target on her bashing back then. It was in 2010 as well.
Even the Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010 housemates–Ann Li and Tricia Santos didn’t escape Mendoza’s careless comments back then.

Apart from local celebrities, she bashes even the foreign celebrities.
She hit on Kanye West.
She then bashed the #JonasBros.
Then, Mikki Minaj, too.

What could have made Mendoza apologize for her previous tweets?
Has she matured over the years?
Back then, her fans defended their idol from those who tried to hit back on Mendoza.
In real life, Maine’s full name is Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza. She is now 26 years of age.
She completed a bachelor’s degree in hotel, restaurant and institution management major in culinary arts at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. She had her internship at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, New York.
In June 2017, Soltero Salazar of the Association of Philippine Advertisers said that Mendoza surpassed Kris Aquino as the top celebrity endorser in the Philippines. He added that Aquino was a top endorser since the 1990s, but when she left ABS-CBN in 2017–it made her rarely seen on television–it was then that the advertisers preferred Mendoza instead.
In October 2017, she released her first autobiographical book, Yup, I Am That Girl, the unfiltered version of her blog, Pessimistic Optimist Bella.
Today, she is romantically involved with Kapamilya actor Arjo Atayde.
