Several netizens have linked Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor’s Ivermectin initiative to his future political plans.
On Twitter, netizens questioned Defensor’s insistence in distributing anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin to his constituent despite DOH and FDA’s warning against it.
DOH in their statement said that people who will disperse or distribute the anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin to treat COVID-19 will be violating Republic Act (RA) No. 9711 or the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Act of 2009.
@princessfrance in his tweet slammed Defensor (who’s allegedly planning to run for QC mayor) for his disregard for people’s lives. The netizen also brought up the issue of the ABS-CBN shutdown which Defensor is also instrumental.

Former TV4 anchor Jules Guiang also criticized Defensor for defending his initiative saying it’s ironic that as an Anakalusugan Partylist Rep, Defensor is pushing to distribute a drug that is not advisable for human consumption.
